Borja Huidobro

La obra pictórica de Borja Huidobro, es el resultado de una investigación acuciosa. A pesar de vivir lejos de nuestro país, a través su creación, interpela aquellos aspectos que permanecen y configuran la identidad de nuestro pueblo. Por otro lado, nos advierte sobre la importancia de no caer en el olvido de lo que realmente somos.

Premio nacional de arquitectura en 1991, Borja Huidobro, residente en Francia desde principios de los 60, es creador de edificios como el Ministerio de Finanzas francés o la embajada de ese país en India, paralelamente a la arquitectura, también ha dedicado parte importante de su tiempo a las artes plásticas.

“Todo un mundo se desliza entre el croquis y la pintura. Está el croquis de arquitectura, que sirve de ayuda a la concepción, y que podemos así mismo encontrar en el génesis de una obra pictórica. Pero está también el croquis placer, ese que se infiltra en tus carnets de dibujos, casi por inadvertencia, a la ocasión de un viaje, por ejemplo… De todos modos, el uno y otro cuentan una historia. Ambos testimonian del instante presente.” Borja Huidobro.

Borja Huidobro's pictorial work is the result of a thorough investigation. Despite living far from our country, through its creation, it challenges those aspects that remain and shape the identity of our people. On the other hand, it warns us about the importance of not forgetting who we really are.

National architecture prize in 1991, Borja Huidobro, resident in France since the early 60s, is the creator of buildings such as the French Ministry of Finance or the embassy of that country in India, in parallel to architecture, he has also dedicated an important part of his Time to the plastic arts.
